About me

  • 1958 - born on the 4th of July to a little town in the north of East Germany


  • 1970 -  joining the wind orchestra of my school to learn how play the clarinet


  • 1975 - moving to Jena (Thuringia) to become an optician

             -  joining another wind orchestra as well as several smaller bands 

             -  playing for dancing


  • November 1977 to April 1979 I doing my military draft


  • 1980 – I got introduced to the tenor banjo and played for one year with the Jenaer Dixielanders 


  • 1981 –  one day before my 23th birthday, got my first 5-string banjo, brand: Musima







  • 1982 – 1984 I started founding my first band

  • Dec.12, 1984 – first official performance of the Fox Tower Bluegrass Band

  • July 1988 – I became a freelanced musician

  • Nov.9, 1989 the Berlin wall fell – the world was open

  • August 1991 – the Fox Tower Bluegrass Band decided to have a break

  • 1992 – my first trip to the USA – I took part in the Tennessee Banjo Institute

  • 1996 – my first US Tour (with Andy's Breakdown)

  • 1997 – the Fox Tower Bluegrass Band was back on stage

  • 1998 – first US Tour of the Fox Tower Bluegrass Band, I got my Nechville Nextar Galaxy Banjo and play it ever since

  • 1999 – We received the Best of Texas Award as the best international bluegrass band

  • 2004/5 – I work as a translator for an American E-book company

  • since 2005 – I write crime novels and short stories – some are published as ebooks and print books

  • 2014 – the first children story about the koala albino girl Pinky Flee was published and the children shows about her started – a CD will be released at the end of November

  • 2010 – I was conducted in the “Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame” in Iowa, USA

  • besides Germany so far I have toured half of Europe, Australia, Mexico and several times the USA
